PACU Nurse Supervisor and Educator Job 938181

My client, a 150 bed hospital in the Raleigh/Durham area has a need for an experienced PACU Educator/Supervisor.

Position assists the unit manager in supervision, coordination, education, and management of nursing personnel to ensure consistent standards of practice and competencies in the delivery of patient care services on an assigned shift.  The Clinical Educator/Supervisor understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.

PACU experience is crucial for this position because that would be the area with the sickest patients and the hardest for someone to learn if they didn’t have experience. Supervisor Experience is preferred because with 3 areas to juggle, it would probably be too much for someone that had not performed in  a similar role before.

Direct Reports: approximately 45

# of beds: 20 same day surgery bed spaces, 13 PACU bed spaces, 5 room Pre Admission Testing Clinic

Individual will  staff 50% staffing. This would be primarily in charge nurse role in PACU or Pre OP.

Experience Requirements :

A minimum of three to five years of professional experience in clinical nursing including clinical practice directly related to that of assigned unit.  Experience in nursing management preferred.  Experience in teaching and facilitation of learning.

BSN required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements :

Current RN licensure in State of North Carolina with no substantiated findings.

Hours of Work : Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

Weekend Requirements : No Weekends

Call Requirements : Call is management call.  1 week at the time. Available by phone, not to come in to staff. Rotating weeks, would be approximately every 6-8 weeks.
